After arriving in Andalsnes we walked from the train stop to check into our beautiful cabin that is right at the foot of a mountain. The main building is striking. We were so excited because the town is surrounded by mountains and very few people live here.
It was about 10 pm but since we are so far north the sun did not set until around 12 pm but it never got dark. It was light throughout the night. We stayed up late just sitting at a picnic table outside. While we were outside at 12 am a farmer that owns the field next to us started seeding his land. AT 12AM.
The next morning we went to breakfast and got information from the owner of the cabins on what hike to do. Thats when the adventure really began. It was raining the whole morning and was pretty chilly. We hiked up an incredibly steep incline and two of the four of us actually turned to go back to the cabin before reaching the top. It was all worth it in the end.
After this hike we were very hungry so we all met back up and went to a cafe. (One of the only places that was open in the town because it is not yet tourist season.) After the cafe I wondered around the city to look at the houses. The others found browny mix in a grocery store and so we walked back to the cabin and we made brownies for dinner. (My personal favorite.)
Tomorrow we plan to take a ferry to Molde to see the sites and meet up with someone we met on the train.
