Another day of class… except today we focused on Norwegian Romanticism through art! After a short lecture we went to the Nasjonal Museet which has a small but great collection of paintings.
Even though we were not studying Expressionism the gallery has a large room dedicated to Edvard Munch which is where I spent most of my time. He was a Norwegian painter. Some of his most famous works are The Scream and Madonna.
I have been looking forward to this museum since we arrived and it did not disappoint.
After spending time there I decided to go find Vigeland Park which is a large park full of sculptures that were donated to the city by Gustav Vigeland. It contains over 200 statues that were all made by him. It was a beautiful day filled with history and artwork.
